Craft #3 - Pantone Universe-inspired Easter eggs!

Heya chikas!

So I haven't posted on my blog for a while, and I am totally sorry about that, I was just dealing with a bit of school work. But nevertheless, I'm ready to start posting some serious Pinterest findings of mine now! :D

So here it is: The one and only Pantone Universe-inspired Easter Eggs!!!

How cute are these?!

They're surprisingly easy to make, too. All you have to do is go on the Pantone Universe website, find your fave color swatches, and take their code numbers down. Then, type them up, print them on special tattoo paper (available at Micheal's I think), and then press it onto the egg. (If you can't find tattoo paper, I'm sure you could do this with black edible ink pens instead!) Then you just dip three quarters of the egg in the colored dye, and there you have it!

I hope you liked this post. Let me know if you did in the comments below, and don't forget to enter my contest that is explained in the last post!

Have an egg-cellent Easter weekend!!!

Bake Me #2 - Smeeps! (+contest)

Hi peeps!

Notice the new greeting-"peeps"! You may think this is an unusually slang way of saying hi, but don't fret, as always there is a method to my madness. In fact, it is precisely what today's DIY is about: S'mores made with Peeps!

I chose this DIY for two reasons. One being that with the Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, I have been a victim of Spring Fever and Easter is right around the corner, and two being that I. LOVE. PEEPS. They are one of my favorite Easter candies (next to Creme eggs, of course) and I'm seriously obsessed with them.

So, without further ado, say hello to a new Pinterest phenomenon: The Smeep!

There are many different ways to make a Smeep, but in the end it is truly a question of personal tastes.

You can roast the Peeps on a fire before putting it on the cracker and chocolate, like so:

Or you can just put it straight on the cracker and chocolate without roasting it. You can even experiment with the type of chocolate you use (Nutella would be a yummy and quick fix for last-minute treats) and the color of Peeps that you use (pink and blue are particularly pretty).

I am thinking of having a little contest. All you have to do to enter is write me a comment on this post with an image of your finished Smeep creation, and the winner will be randomly drawn to win a box of Peeps and a box of Creme eggs! Remember that this contest can only be held if I have more than 5 contestants, so comment now to win the perfect supplies for making Smeeps or just sneaking some refined sugar into your diet ;)...

Happy Smeeping!

Bake Me #1 - Lemon Brownies

Hi girls!

My day just became 10,000 times happier because I heard from my grandma that my aunt just had a baby boy! An adorable 7 pounds, 1 ounce cutie, and I am now waiting for pics of him via cell phone! (cue the "awwwww"s)

To add on to this super happy state of mind, I thought that I'd post this delicious-looking recipe by BeckyCharms & Co. that might as well be a ray of sunshine because of its bright color and the flavor behind it. :)

Lemon Brownies

The Brownie Batter

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour {King Arthur All-Purpose Flour}
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt {Sea Salt}
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
The Yumtastic Glaze
  • 1 rounded cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 8 teaspoons lemon zest

Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease/Spray an 8-by-8-inch baking dish with butter/cooking spray and set aside.

Zest and juice two lemons; set aside.

In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the flour, sugar, salt, and softened butter until combined.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, lemon zest, and lemon juice until combined. Pour into the flour mixture and beat at medium speed until smooth and creamy, about 2 minutes.

Pour mixture into baking dish and bake for 23-25 minutes, or until just starting to turn golden around the edges and a toothpick inserted into the center of the brownies comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before glazing.  Do not overbake, or else the bars will be dry.

When brownies are cooled completely, make the glaze. Sift the powdered sugar, add lemon zest and juice, and whisk together all three ingredients. Spread half the glaze over the brownies with a rubber spatula.  Let glaze set.  Spread the remaining glaze over the bars, and let it set. This glaze does not harden like most glazes. Cut into bars, and serve!

Gorgeous Bow Bun Tutorial!

Hiya girlies!

Today is both a good and a bad day. Good because I was on Pinterest all morning, and bad because March Break is OVER... :'(

But anyhow, let's go back to the good part. I found a super cool tutorial while browsing Pinterest that I am desperate to try, but my bob haircut is a tad too short for it. I hope you guys like it, though!

How awesome is that?! If only my hair could grow a little faster, then I could do this for one of my friend's upcoming b-day party. *sigh* Oh well.

Until my next post,

Craft #2 - Tiny Bow Tutorial

Hi everyone!

Today I'm in a very girly mood. Yes, I know that it's weird of ME to say that, since my blog is practically like a bag of pastel M&Ms that had one big hiccup and ended up spilling all over the place, but let's just say that I'm even girlier than that today (if that's even possible). :D

In order to show you guys and gals just how fabulicious (yes, I seriously did just said that) I'm feeling, I found this brilliant little tutorial that makes me want to go out and buy five yards of sparkly ribbon.

I'm not gonna put any instructions on this post because I think that the pic is descriptive enough, but if you need some extra help then I'll be glad to answer any comments in the section below. :)

Attach this little bow to a birthday card and you'll have everyone at the party begging for you to teach them how to do it. I know that if I saw this, I'd want to know how to make this too.

Until my next post,

Maple Syrup and Skiing-The perfect March Break combination!

Hi again!

Today I'm going to have a proper snow day with my family. We're going to the nearest cabane à sucre (or sugar shack, as most people call it) and eating some dee-lish stuff there (most of the food is made of maple syrup in some shape, way or form, YUM).

After all that, we're gonna need to work off some serious carbs, so we are hitting the slopes for some much-needed skiing and snowboarding. Heck yeah!
But for now, I thought I'd leave you guys with a bit of important info before I depart on this awesome adventure ;)

Unil my next post,

Craft #1 - DIY Watermelon Sneakers!

Okay, okay. I know it's early March and summer is still months away, but why not at least pretend that it's that fabulous season in which long-sleeved shirts, trousers and boots are ditched for bikinis, cutoff jean shorts and flip-flops?

When I found these bad boys on Pinterest the other day, they didn't exactly come with a tutorial, but hey, if you saw these shoes on the Internet and envied them as much as I do right now, you'd come up with your very own tutorial for them too! Hope you like it!

Materials:
-Old pair of red Vans/TOMs/slip-on shoes
-Black fabric marker (or a Sharpie)
-Green epoxy paint or other oil-based paint (to stay put on the rubber soles)
-Painter's tape

Instructions:
1. Start by covering the thin top part of the shoes' soles with painter's tape.
2. Once you have made sure that the tape is secure, start painting the bottom part of the soles with the epoxy paint. Let dry completely before moving on to step 3.
3. Take your black fabric marker and draw little tear-shaped 'seeds' around the whole red part of the shoes.
4. Take the tape off, and voilà!!!

Let me know how your shoes turned out in the comments below, and you can even post a pic of the finished product!

Until my next post,
