<br />
With prom/grad season rapidly approaching, I thought I'd do something a little different for today's post. That's right - A Prom Prep series! <br />
<br />
However, many blogs/articles only feature costly brands and items on posts like this, which is kinda disappointing, especially if you don't have a ton of cash at your disposal. So, I've decided to make this post for those of you who don't feel like blowing all your part-time job money on prom. (P.S.: In true craft.bake.fun fashion, there are DIYs in this post!)<br />
<br />
Without further ado, here's my top picks in makeup and hair for Prom 2015! I've rated each of them with a five heart system for your convenience (and for the cuteness factor).<br />
<br />
HAIR/MAKEUP:<br />
<br />
Note: This post could go on forever if I'm not careful, so to avoid your potential endless scrolling, I've compiled a short list of my favourite inexpensive makeup brands, plus my favourite Pinterest hair tutorials. Enjoy!<br />
<br />
<img src="http://cosmmetica.files.wordpress.com/2012/06/nyx-matte-lipstick-1.jpg" height="400" width="397" /><br />
<br />
1. NYX Cosmetics (Quality: ♥♥♥♥♥ Cost: ♥♥♥♥)<br />
<br />
If you're an Instagram beauty junkie, chances are you've heard of this brand before (or possibly even worship it). The quality of their products is amazing (case in point: the insane color payoff of their Wicked Lippies), and their prices are very low. Bonus: they don't test on animals! What's not to love?<br />
<br />

<br />
<img class="mainImage" data-bm="65" src="http://coupondivas.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/elf1126.png" height="403" width="403" /><br />
2. e.l.f Cosmetics (Quality: ♥♥♥♥ Cost: ♥♥♥♥♥)<br />
<br />
There is seriously no makeup brand I know of that has both the dirt-cheap prices and great quality of e.l.f. I received a gift from my friend over Christmas break that contained a little nude eyeshadow palette, mascara, eyeliner, and eye primer, and wore them to a party the next day. After having fallen asleep with my makeup on (oops!), I expected my pillow to be totally stained the next morning. Alas, it was clean, and my makeup barely smudged! Long-lasting + inexpensive = great prom makeup.<br />

<br />
3. New York Color (Quality: ♥♥♥ Cost: ♥♥♥♥)<br />
<br />
This brand is great if you want a good value, and it also has some pretty fun products. Some products I recommend from them are their lipsticks (I have the Expert Last Lip Color in Blue Rose, and the color is gorgeous) and their liquid eyeliner (I tested some on the back of my hand at a drugstore, and it didn't come off all day!). <br />

Anyway, here's a few fun DIYs for you guys! (Also, if you like what I post on my blog, I have a fairly similar Pinterest page under the username "frostygal10" if you want to follow it.)<br />
<br />
1. Colorful Hook Rack<br />
<br />
<img alt="This colorful mid-century style hook rack would cost hundreds in a store, but you can make it for just $15!" class="pinImage" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/05/23/eb/0523ebf0c57f69a69fa282a9653265c9.jpg" /><br />
<br />
This one is pretty straightforward, and is probably one of the most tempting home décor DIYs I've ever laid eyes on. So. Freaking. Cute! Bonus: this would also be great for a college dorm. <br />

<br />
2. "Partly Sunny" Dress Pattern<br />
<br />
<img alt="Crw_9669_large" src="http://assets.burdastyle.com/project_images/assets/000/313/437/CRW_9669_large.jpg?1361562475" /><br />
<br />
With spring already in full swing and summer just around the corner, we're all in need of a little extra crafting inspiration... and a new wardrobe. Coincidence? I think not. For those daring sewing enthusiasts out there, here's a cute (and FREE!) dress pattern that'll make you the classiest ray of sunshine at any party. <br />

<br />
3. Saltine Cracker Toffee<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<a href="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/7c/55/51/7c5551ad2fd2dd99681f2b8e4a24a971.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="Saltine cracker toffee recipe...15 minute toffee! Super easy to make and seriously addicting!" border="0" height="640" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/7c/55/51/7c5551ad2fd2dd99681f2b8e4a24a971.jpg" width="213" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Oh. My. Sugar. I just made these, and let me tell you, if I could have gotten a picture in before eating them all, it wouldn't have done the deliciousness of these guys justice. They're SO GOOD! Mine came out a little flakier than the ones in the picture, but still as yummy as I hoped they would be. Also, no worries if you have bare cabinets from all that spring cleaning - these only require 3 ingredients. So, go make some, pronto. I promise you won't regret it.</div>

</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. Floral Letters</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<img alt="swellmayde: DIY | Floral Letters" src="https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/5b/cc/c8/5bccc83d4c6ea8af3ba1d713c284df99.jpg" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
April showers bring May... Flower Letters! These look so amazing, but I'd definitely want to skip the real flowers for this craft and opt for a bunch of pretty, fake ones instead. Unless, of course, you prefer the look/smell of real flowers, or these are being used as a temporary decoration, but I would want these beauties to last year-round. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. Colored Ombré Kimono </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<img alt="How to make a Kimono | Mollie Makes free sewing pattern" src="http://www.molliemakes.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/49/2014/08/How-to-make-a-Kimono-Mollie-Makes-free-sewing-pattern.jpg" /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Kimonos seem to have become extremely popular recently, and with festival season already here, I thought this DIY would be totally appropriate. These are usually ridiculously overpriced (and usually not my style) at the stores I shop at, so naturally, making one would be the cheaper, more customizable alternative. Besides, the simplicity of the project itself and beauty of the final product is enough to convert me from buying them premade altogether, even at their 'sale' prices.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So that's all, folks! I hope you enjoyed my DIY picks of the season, and I hope to post more fun stuff in coming weeks. If you enjoy my posts, leave me a comment and share the love! I'd be overjoyed to read them.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
See you (hopefully) soon,</div>

<br />
So today I thought that I'd post a DIY for the first time in a month (can you believe that it's almost the end of October already?!?), because today marks the ten days left until that famed holiday in which children go crazy overeating sugary treats, partying in increasingly expensive costumes, and ringing our doorbells incessantly until the wee hours of the night demanding for said sugary treats. Ah yes, Halloween! My favorite part about the 31st will always be the costumes, no matter how weird, gruesome or freaky. I just think that the creativity and careful consideration of what to pair with what that comes with making your own costume simply deserves a round of applause! To congratulate those awesome kids (and, lets face it, adults) that spend hours every October planning the perfect Halloween costume instead of paying the scarily high prices for a pre-made one, here's a list of my favorite costume DIYs of the season!<br />
<br />
Enjoy!<br />
<br />
5. Bubble Bath costume<br />
<br />
<img height="400" src="http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_mcmgeb8uJm1qzkvnvo1_1280.jpg" width="400" /><br />
<br />
Easy: just wear a white minidress, stick a bunch of tiny white balloons to the skirt area, and hot glue a rubber duck to a plain headband. Wear some baby blue heels and voilà! You can even do this in a different context and be the flying house with the balloons from the Disney movie <i>Up.</i><br />
<br />
<br />
4. The Morton Salt Girl costume<br />
<br />
<img alt="25 Creative DIY Costumes for Halloween 2013!! #halloween #halloweencostumes #halloweencostume #diy" src="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/31/07/16/3107166272f88c246a58871b3e3eeac6.jpg" /><br />
<br />
Wear a yellow pleated dress, white opaque stockings, and yellow flats. Then, take along a can of Morton Salt (empty) and a big, clear umbrella. To really go all out, try wearing a yellow bob wig and paint your lips your exact skin color, outlining them in black eyeliner after that, and thinly lining only the tops of your eyes to complete the look.<br />
<br />
<br />
3. Any 90's movie character costume<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<br />
The options here are unlimited. Just go crazy, have fun, and party like it's 1999!<br />
<br />
<br />
2. Your favorite music artist<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Oh So Fun DIY Katy Perry California Gurl Costume" height="320" src="http://media-cache-cd0.pinimg.com/736x/da/9f/17/da9f17c708b03148320718ba78c22e52.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="240" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Katy Perry</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Superior Lady Gaga costume!" height="320" src="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/77/d9/0e/77d90e5a7f7014ac0e0e692e6825c8ad.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="231" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: left;">Lady Gaga<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img alt="Homemade LMFAO Costume" height="320" src="http://www.coolest-homemade-costumes.com/images/coolest-lmfao-costume-3-21583040.jpg" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="208" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">LMFAO guys</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Who doesn't want to dress like their favorite artist once in a while? Choose one that is particularly known for the...unique...clothes they wear, like Lady Gaga or Katy Perry, so that the inevitable "who are you dressed as?" will be easier to explain.</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
1. Cupcake (or anything sweet and sugary) Costume</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<img alt="Cupcake Joy - how to make a cupcake costume | diy costumes | funny costumes | kids costumes" height="400" src="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/1b/f3/07/1bf3075fd2777e586e4403918353449d.jpg" width="272" /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Hehe, I love this one. Any candy or sweet treat would work, like macarons or candy bars, but I have a long-standing crush on all things cupcakes. So visit the below blog and make yourself one before you drool all over your keyboard! </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
So now I hope that you girls have an idea as to what you might dress up as for Halloween! If you have a different idea or just want to let me know which costume you liked best, write to me in the comments below!</div>

<br />
It has been absolutely FOREVER since I've posted, hasn't it? So sorry about that, but a girl's gotta catch up with her schoolwork (and other little unexpected things that turn up when you least expect them)!<br />
<br />
So, today I decided that we can all go for a bit of inspiration. I have had a serious case of the autumn blues over these past few weeks, because as you all know, I live for the summer months. And when they're over, my creativity and I need a pick-me-up :)<br />
<br />
Be sure to stay tuned for a special reminder at the end of the post that I know that you ladies will be awesome enough to read and react to :D<br />
<br />
Alrighty, here we go! Let me know which inspiration pic is your fave if you can, because I know for sure that I can't pick just one! :P<br />

<br />
<br />
So as you can see, my theme for today's inspo is the color Pink! And because Breast Cancer Awareness<br />
Month (BCAM for short) is right around the corner (and I'm sure that most of you fabulous girls have sadly had to see someone you know and love suffer through this painful and life-changing illness), I encourage you to donate to at least one organisation supporting this cause. No, I'm not being paid to say this, and I really think that this is an important cause. Since no one ever wants to experience this in their lifetime, every little bit will help us girls work towards a brighter, cancer-free future.<br />
<br />
Girl power all the way!!!<br />

<br />
So I have brought good news and bad news today. Bad news: today is the last day for Closet Revamp Week. Good news: instead of only having one DIY today, I have FOUR for you guys! Sometimes there isn't enough time in one week to do everything you planned one step at a time. :)<br />
<br />
So let's start with DIY numero uno:<br />
<br />
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><img src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg7I0zi7oAvHcELA6HC0HijSLq4GtK3ZXuiE-OaVuGjd6HDUpuMK1BS9gqvyjYTmIPJLaHrUHWqSWpGx2zZtNURAZOLnGCL6JLkgozekICbAFfJqgAb0pQUBs7_mUqjeYiE47V143IRU1k/s320/PicMonkey+Collage.jpg" height="320" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" width="318" /></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">Before....</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>
<tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjPSI_OG2fAQZ8flf1cWkc8KJ1DKjR_rZeqgbbrvuikmm4XgwbxiEf800EL6Snc6Dw497jkR-79azr8-mDhV6cpE3XSlE-ui48X4sJ9YqGt-_wKUltTCm478PtMQ-lw1d3ZochKiRbZWk/s640/overit.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjPSI_OG2fAQZ8flf1cWkc8KJ1DKjR_rZeqgbbrvuikmm4XgwbxiEf800EL6Snc6Dw497jkR-79azr8-mDhV6cpE3XSlE-ui48X4sJ9YqGt-_wKUltTCm478PtMQ-lw1d3ZochKiRbZWk/s320/overit.png" height="320" width="259" /></a></td></tr>
<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">...and After!!!</td></tr>
</tbody></table>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
So this one is an overall dress that the talented lady over at <i>Trash To Couture</i> made out of an old pair of jeans. They didn't exactly come with a tutorial, but you can kind of visualize the steps. Cut off the legs of the jeans, then fashion the rest into a skirt, and then make the legs into the top of the skirt. Then add pockets, extra buttons, etc.</div>
<br />

<br />
Sorry for the late post, but today I was out and about on my way as usual, and I completely forgot about Closet Revamp Week!<br />
<br />
On the bright side, I have a really fun tutorial for you guys today!!! I found while browsing not Pinterest but YouTube for DIYs, and this girl is fantastic! Too bad I only discovered her two days ago, because I would have reserved her a spot on my <a href="http://craftbakefun.blogspot.ca/2013/08/fun-things-2-few-of-my-favorite-places.html">top 10 list!</a><br />
<br />
Anyways, this tutorial is for a remodel on last year's out-of-style backpack. I'm sure you'll love it!<br />
<br />
Here's the link to the fun DIY backpack remodel:<br />

<br />
Today I'm going to be super busy. My cousins are coming over for a visit, my aunts are taking us to a movie, and I have to get my ballet outfit from the studio. Phew! But the coolest part of today is that I get to share one of my favorite DIYs from Pinterest with you guys!<br />
<br />
When you go to a store and see a whole bunch of trendy tops that look like this....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://blog.inonit.in/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Tribal-Print-Tie-Front-Blouse-from-Forever-21.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://blog.inonit.in/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/Tribal-Print-Tie-Front-Blouse-from-Forever-21.jpg" width="260" /></a> <a href="http://media1.onsugar.com/files/2013/05/12/657/n/31616/netimgJYVKgm.xxlarge/i/FOREVER-21-Tie-Front-Eyelet-Shirt.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="http://media1.onsugar.com/files/2013/05/12/657/n/31616/netimgJYVKgm.xxlarge/i/FOREVER-21-Tie-Front-Eyelet-Shirt.jpg" width="260" /></a></div>
<br />
...don't you get the urge to impulsively buy it just because it's trendy? I have, on many occasions. But the only thing holding me back is the price tag. $33.50 for a sleeveless piece of chiffon? Yeah, right. Enter Pinterest, the best thing that's ever happened to people like me, who don't want to spend a small fortune on something that can be made at home for wayyy less.<br />
<br />
Take this tutorial for example:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/a4/be/d1/a4bed1b6396d135ef05cc00f8a498a53.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/a4/be/d1/a4bed1b6396d135ef05cc00f8a498a53.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
See? Much better. Just grab one of your dad's old button-up dress shirts (or buy one at a thrift store for $5) and you can make the same shirt for a price that's easier on a student's budget. The best part? This one is multitasking. Wear it under a dress for instant chic, or with a skirt for a more trendy approach.<br />
<br />
And seriously. How cute are those polka dots?<br />
<br />
Have a super fun day!<br />
<br />

<br />
Life is funny, isn't it? It never turns out to be what you expected. Just this morning I planned to visit my friend because it was her birthday this week, but I ended up getting so sick at her house (for an unidentified reason, naturally) that I had to leave a lot sooner than I thought I would, and we hardly got to talk at all. Oh, well.<br />
<br />
Anyways, here I am, sick and all, but don't you think for a second that I'm not going to post another Closet Revamp DIY for you guys! Because this girl doesn't give up that easily ;D<br />
<br />
So here it is! These are just a few of the shoe revamps that are featured on the link below, so go ahead and check it out!<br />

<br />
This is post #2 of the Closet Revamp Week! Which actually means two things: One, that I'm about to show you guys another clothes DIY, and Two, I have yet another surprise for you guys at the end of the post! So stay tuned!<br />
<br />
Without further ado, please give a warm welcome to... these DIY Printed Jeans!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/1e/b0/11/1eb0112c59773d92ceda63eda3fc7461.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/1e/b0/11/1eb0112c59773d92ceda63eda3fc7461.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
Just to clarify, this tutorial uses white fabric paint and a stencil that the person made themselves, so the sky's the limit for variations! You can even do this on blue jeans with bleach, and maybe change the heart stencil for a star, or just freehand a whole bunch of polka dots on your jeans (I might actually do the latter).<br />
<br />
This is the perfect way to jazz up an old pair of jeans that may have small holes or stains on them. Come to think of it, wouldn't this look nice with <a href="http://craftbakefun.blogspot.ca/2013/08/craft-7-distressed-heart-t-shirt-diy.html">yesterday's DIY?</a><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: large;">So, are you guys ready for the surprise?</span><br />

<br />
So I have really good news! I found something on Pinterest that will hopefully make you guys super happy because....drumroll please.... It's a DIY!!!! And I know I haven't done one in a long time, so I hope you guys like this! By the way, if you have any lingering desires to splurge on back-to-school clothes, you may want to reconsider. Just buy a grey Hanes T-shirt (2$) and a half a meter of colored fabric (approx. 5$) and you're good to go for this DIY!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/db/84/30/db843098d45d86f8a0b1bff07a094b6a.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/db/84/30/db843098d45d86f8a0b1bff07a094b6a.jpg" /></a></div>
So, as with some of my other Pinterest tutorials, I think this one is self-explanatory. But if you need further instructions or clarification, just let me know in the comments below.<br />
<br />
Variations:<br />
<br />
<ul>
<li>Sew a lace trim to the top and bottom hemline for a more feminine approach.</li>
<li>Distress the edges of the hems for a rugged look.</li>
<li>Change the color of the fabric, or experiment with patterns (i.e. leopard, tiger, polka dots, stripes...) </li>
<li>Have fun with creating your own look for this! </li>
</ul>
<div>
I'm going to try to post one Closet Revamp each day this week to 'celebrate' the arrival of, yes, that dreaded back-to-school. Or, for those of you who actually feel like ripping your hair out every time you see, hear or pass one of those ads in a store, maybe stay tuned to make this week a lot more enjoyable :)</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Have a great end-of-summer!</div>

<br />
I've decided to make a list of my favorite things for this post. I do also have a surprise at the end of the post, but read the whole thing first! NO PEEKING! ;)<br />
<br />
Hope you enjoy this! By the way, I'm going to put some of my favorite everyday beauty essentials on the list, just for those makeup lovers out there!<br />
<br />
1. Great Lash 'Lots of Lashes' Mascara in Very Black<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.tedesejoboutique.com.br/image/cache/data/maybellinegreatlash-500x500.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://www.tedesejoboutique.com.br/image/cache/data/maybellinegreatlash-500x500.jpg" width="200" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
This mascara is one of my absolute favorites. It doesn't really give the full lashes look, but Oh My Gosh, does it ever lengthen and curl like a dream! (Bonus: the bottle is super pretty!)</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
2. Rimmel London ScandalEYES Lycra Flex Mascara in Black</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://i-store.walmart.ca/images/WMTCNPE/084/974/1084974_Large_1.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="200" src="http://i-store.walmart.ca/images/WMTCNPE/084/974/1084974_Large_1.jpeg" width="200" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I usually use this before applying the Great Lash mascara to volumize and define the lashes. My favorite part about it is the brush. It's HUGE!!! (Bonus: The 'Lycra technology' prevents your lashes from getting flaky.)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. Claire's </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://www.enjoytruro.co.uk/assets/members/claire_s_accessories/thumbs/546x320/image-2106.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="187" src="http://www.enjoytruro.co.uk/assets/members/claire_s_accessories/thumbs/546x320/image-2106.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This store is a huge inspiration to me. It's so fun to just walk in and see all the cute jewelry and accessories and think, 'I can totally make that!' and then go home with your crafty idea (and perhaps a few bracelets and earrings too!).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. LUSH Cosmetics</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://blissbrideblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/lush.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="http://blissbrideblog.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/lush.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Alright, I'll admit it: I'm a hardcore Lushie! I seriously can't take one trip to the mall without being tempted to walk into their shop and buy one of their world-famous soaps and scrubs. They're just that addictive. (Bonus: everything they make is animal-testing free, and most of their products are vegan!)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. Pinterest</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://jessapamute.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/pinterest_01.png" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="http://jessapamute.files.wordpress.com/2012/01/pinterest_01.png" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This was a no-brainer. The Internet's mecca of crafters and DIYers is just T.A.F.W. (Too Awesome For Words), and it's the only site that actually forces you sit at the computer for three hours straight, and better still, makes you feel good about doing that.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
6. e.o.s. Lip Balm Spheres</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://jugnistyle.com/new_website/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/eos-lip-balm-sphere-group-image.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="243" src="http://jugnistyle.com/new_website/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/eos-lip-balm-sphere-group-image.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These are really great for sore, chapped lips. Their flavors are really yummy, and I especially love the application, because it actually dispenses the perfect amount of balm on your lips without overdoing it (which I have been guilty of on more than one occasion).</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
This place is a France-based craft store, and I just love it! Of course, they aren't everywhere, so you can just visit their website (deserres.ca) if you don't live within proximity to one. It's another one of my inspiring places to visit when I'm out of crafty ideas.</div>

<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This lovely lady is just about the happiest thing on Earth. Watching one of her videos is like taking in a ray of sunshine! Seriously. A few days ago, I was having the worst day ever, and as soon as I started watching The Kandee Johnson Show on YouTube (specifically, the Betty Boop tutorial, as shown above), I felt instantly happier and more positive :)</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
Etsy is so amazing. It allows you to shop in a lively online marketplace that lets you explore items that you otherwise couldn't find in a store because they're uniquely made by talented artisans. It's also incredibly inspirational to me. I love it!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br />
As you probably already know, I love everything that may strike others as childish or over-the-top-whimsical, and I'm proud of that. I mean really, who doesn't feel the urge to squeal with delight every time you see a baby blue sky with white fluffy clouds and a sun that lights up all the colors in the sky, perhaps a rainbow of them? Or maybe a big bowl full of M&Ms, Skittles and Smarties? Or maybe even....<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
...a dozen swirled sugar cookies with rainbow sprinkles on the edges? Yeah, I think the latter would be the icing on the COOKIE to a day like that! (pun city?)<br />
<br />
Anways, head on down to SaltTree to gain the wizardry powers necessary to be able to concoct such fascinating delicacies! Or, you know, just baking them would be fine too, I guess...<br />
<br />
Here's the link to these precious cookies: <a href="http://www.salttree.net/2012/10/swirled-sugar-cookies.html">http://www.salttree.net/2012/10/swirled-sugar-cookies.html</a><br />

Have a gorgeous, blue-skies-and-fluffy-white-clouds day! :)<br />
<br />

<br />
P.S: Is it just me, or does the "cookie" need to be renamed? They are, after all, baked not cooked. But come to think of it, "bakie" doesn't really have the same ring to it as "cookie" does. Hmmm.... what do you think?Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1479552889166992414.post-8204339412939373842013-07-16T09:18:00.001-07:002013-07-17T16:04:32.117-07:00Fun things #2: Fabric haul + TOP-SECRET DIY!!!Hi everyone!<br />
<br />
I don't know if it's just me, but summer is going by WAYYY too fast. I just checked my calendar yesterday, and I was like "WHAT?! It's mid-July already!?!" But this could also be due to a lack of frequently checking what day it is or what time it is, like I usually do in the non-summer months. Anyways, guess what? I visited my local fabric store recently (notice I said 'recently', because like I said, I lose my usually accurate sense of time in the summer), and I don't know what happened to my self-control, but somehow I ended up buying a ton more fabric than I thought I would!<br />

<span style="text-align: left;">When I said a ton more fabric, I meant that each one of these lovely threads is about 3 metres long!!! The first image is showing the denim fabric that I bought, which was so hard to keep together that they had to tape it together. Honestly, I don't know if it was the Froot Loops (with its incredible amount of sugar in each serving) I had for breakfast that morning or the semi-annual sale that the store was having that day, but my shopping impulse went haywire on me :P</span></div>
<br />
So, all of this talking (or, should I say, typing) has led us to a final conclusion: which of these fabrics should I use in my upcoming totally top-secret DIY???<br />
<br />
You may share your opinions in the comments section below, and very soon I will have a DIY created using one of of the fabrics! So go on, type as fast as you can and post those comments girlies!<br />

Have a fun, fabric-filled day,<br />

<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
As you may have noticed, I haven't posted anything in a long time, but I have tons of ideas for DIYs now and...you guessed it...I'm posting one today!!! Yay!!!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
The top-secret theme for today IS....... everything Kawaii (pronounced KAH-why)!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<img src="http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs70/f/2010/198/b/5/b5b2a2f4454a84e74019c5ca121d3c4e.jpg" /></div>
<div>
<img src="http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3310/3513479459_3ee1678133.jpg" /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="http://lulapasqualina.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/kawaiigrid.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="http://lulapasqualina.files.wordpress.com/2010/01/kawaiigrid.jpg" width="532" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
For those who don't know what kawaii is (or means), it's both a Japanese word meaning 'cute' and a style. A very, very adorable style. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Today's DIY has a lot to do with kawaii, as you have probably already assumed, and I promise that you'll love it just as much as you now love kawaii itself. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So, WFA (without further ado), here it is: A DIY Printed Kawaii Tee Shirt!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
***Warning: You may become so obsessed with kawaii that it will haunt your mind day and night.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
You will need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<ul>
<li>Lightly colored or white plain t-shirt</li>
<li>Iron-on printable transfer sheets (can be found at most Walmarts or craft stores)</li>
<li>Inkjet or laser printer</li>
<li>Photo viewing/editing software (such as Picasa)</li>
</ul>
<div>
1. Find a kawaii pic on the Internet. Make sure that there aren't any signatures or brandings on the image, because these will show up on your printout.</div>
<div>
2. Save this picture to the "Pictures" or "Downloads" file on your computer. </div>
<div>
3. Open your photo viewing/editing software and click on the picture that you just saved. If there is writing on the image, you are going to want to reverse the image before printing it, or else it will appear to be written backwards on the t-shirt after the transfer.</div>
<div>
4. Remove all of the cartridge paper from your printer and then place one sheet of transfer paper inside it, following the directions on the package.</div>
<div>
5. Print out your image.</div>
<div>
6. Again, following the instructions on the transfer paper package, carefully iron on the image where you would like it to be placed on the shirt, making sure that all wrinkles and dust specks are removed before ironing it on.</div>
<div>
7. Let it dry for a bit, and voilà! Your very own, customized kawaii t-shirt is complete!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Tips:</div>
<div>
-You can also add little extras to the design after it is dry, such as bows, sequins, rhinestones, etc.</div>
<div>
- This makes an awesome gift, so try making one for a friend or family member!</div>
<div>
- If you are using a very stretchy material (such as spandex or Lycra) , make sure that your transfer sheet is stretchable, otherwise the design will be rippled.</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Have a fun-filled kawaii day!</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Lulu <3</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
P.S: What's your favorite kawaii cupcake from the image above? :)</div>

You're a creative crafter! The main things that you'd find on your boards are DIYs and cute bits of inspiration here and there to keep your eccentric creative juices flowing. You're usually very unique personality-wise, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, since it allows you to be a great artist. People turn to you when they need a artist's opinion on something, so keep up the crafty work!<br />
<br />
<strong>Mostly D's:</strong><br />
You're a terrific teacher! Whether you homeschool your children or are a teacher at a school, your ambitions are aimed directly toward education. This shows quite clearly on your boards, which are plastered with printout worksheets, fun school crafts, and organizing methods in order to keep you sane in the midst of all this. You go, girl!<br />
<br />
<strong>Mostly E's:</strong><br />
You're a Steampunk Sweetie! Sometimes you think that you were born in the wrong time period because of your love for all things vintage. In your spare time, you browse thrift shops and flea markets for little trinkets that take you way back in history. Everyone knows you as the brains behind all of the things that you love to tinker, and yet among all of this seemingly chaotic schedule, you still find time to crank out the record player and sip tea while listening to some classical music. You're the girl who keeps it old-school!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1479552889166992414.post-61628631642620591202013-04-20T08:39:00.001-07:002013-07-18T14:17:17.405-07:00Inspiration Day!Hi everyone!<br />
<br />
As we all know, spring is here, and with that notion of longer days, shorter nights, and fun in the sun, we can open up our minds to new craft ideas and that slice-of-sunshine creative spark that has been hibernating all through winter. In order to help you rediscover that spark, I've decided to make today's post all about spring inspiration. Enjoy!<br />

<br />
Spring has sprung! And I can assure you that my interest in floral print and lace has sprung, too. It seems that my entire wardrobe is full of black and grey, with a hint of color every now and then. But this season, I'm determined to spruce things up a little by introducing some spring girliness into my fashion life by shopping for some lighter pieces (and by shopping I really mean scouring Pinterest for DIY spring fashion ideas). <br />
<br />
One morning, I was continuing my search for DIYs when I saw a little piece of inspiration that sparked an idea... and now I shall share that idea with you all!<br />
<br />
<img height="640" id="sb-content" src="http://yourstylerocks.com/_upload/entries/e_18665_294_a91d191fd05eaa09d54600a748bee0d3.jpg" style="position: absolute;" width="597" /><br />

<br />
Now you might be asking yourself, <em>what exactly IS this idea and, more importantly, how do I get started? </em>Well, to answer your question, the idea is..............an asymmetrical lace-adorned dress!<br />
<br />
Okay, so here's how to get started:<br />
<br />
1. Take an old lace bolero (with long sleeves, and the softer the lace the better) and cut off one of the sleeves (as shown above). If you'd like, cut the tip of the remaining sleeve into a diamond-like shape.<br />
2. To prevent fraying of the edges that you cut, sew a pretty trim around them (black rickrack trim is a cute choice).<br />
3. Take the button off (if there is one) and then cut and sew those two ends together to make it hook around your neck (if your head is too wide to fit through the opening you are about to make for your neck, attach hooks and eyes to either side of the two ends and use those instead). <br />
4. Wear a cute strapless dress with it, and your outfit is officially complete!<br />
<br />
So, I hope you liked this tutorial, and if you like what you see, you can leave me a comment below or even follow my blog :)<br />

P.S: For those of you who like to whistle while you work, an awesome tune to dance to is "Tiptoe" by Imagine Dragons. They rock! <br />
So I haven't posted on my blog for a while, and I am totally sorry about that, I was just dealing with a bit of school work. But nevertheless, I'm ready to start posting some serious Pinterest findings of mine now! :D<br />
<br />
So here it is: The one and only Pantone Universe-inspired Easter Eggs!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzfLZ7LryyCwchmFaJhh3qaFDvOU5HjtSwuAeOWFO7-mF22RZsSRz7frx51gHlKBLyu4c9yB_0YgPX0ByRDCk5uVVtVDDY-M5uTx3gCsj6UGHI1J9As-AIZIbSX62XUudXcbyURVAQOKO_/s1600/pantone+easter+eggs.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzfLZ7LryyCwchmFaJhh3qaFDvOU5HjtSwuAeOWFO7-mF22RZsSRz7frx51gHlKBLyu4c9yB_0YgPX0ByRDCk5uVVtVDDY-M5uTx3gCsj6UGHI1J9As-AIZIbSX62XUudXcbyURVAQOKO_/s400/pantone+easter+eggs.jpg" width="325" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
How cute are these?!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
They're surprisingly easy to make, too. All you have to do is go on the Pantone Universe website, find your fave color swatches, and take their code numbers down. Then, type them up, print them on special tattoo paper (available at Micheal's I think), and then press it onto the egg. (If you can't find tattoo paper, I'm sure you could do this with black edible ink pens instead!) Then you just dip three quarters of the egg in the colored dye, and there you have it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I hope you liked this post. Let me know if you did in the comments below, and don't forget to enter my contest that is explained in the last post!</div>

<br />
Notice the new greeting-"peeps"! You may think this is an unusually slang way of saying hi, but don't fret, as always there is a method to my madness. In fact, it is precisely what today's DIY is about: S'mores made with Peeps!<br />
<br />
I chose this DIY for two reasons. One being that with the Daylight Savings Time on Sunday, I have been a victim of Spring Fever and Easter is right around the corner, and two being that I. LOVE. PEEPS. They are one of my favorite Easter candies (next to Creme eggs, of course) and I'm seriously obsessed with them.<br />
<br />
So, without further ado, say hello to a new Pinterest phenomenon: The Smeep!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpn_r_nOxoMcGQJViL3PemGl0BFkO_XR1y9tyHiQugnc2hyRuGH5ZXRNmMUTRizz5W9f0147mNsjV_sTmxAeTxtNaRPlIEGZOL-TSEpEzyUrfDfe-xA5P4z5vEPsb_QsCRTIO60TYDjaod/s1600/smeeps+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpn_r_nOxoMcGQJViL3PemGl0BFkO_XR1y9tyHiQugnc2hyRuGH5ZXRNmMUTRizz5W9f0147mNsjV_sTmxAeTxtNaRPlIEGZOL-TSEpEzyUrfDfe-xA5P4z5vEPsb_QsCRTIO60TYDjaod/s400/smeeps+1.jpg" width="266" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: left;">There are many different ways to make a Smeep, but in the end it is truly a question of personal tastes.</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You can roast the Peeps on a fire before putting it on the cracker and chocolate, like so:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9IvzEmkEJ8WMOhLTtmV8zesphsRbQMCq7Jun5xqcwEcU3yIRCm5x4xhGHA-hYYwyzGEYRmAfE3qni9c3onUzZtoEvyG5JLV8pOGRkdA96r0jmRIj5Kj3RRrp6bpK38XcDsikZJpg_PXcm/s1600/smeeps+2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj9IvzEmkEJ8WMOhLTtmV8zesphsRbQMCq7Jun5xqcwEcU3yIRCm5x4xhGHA-hYYwyzGEYRmAfE3qni9c3onUzZtoEvyG5JLV8pOGRkdA96r0jmRIj5Kj3RRrp6bpK38XcDsikZJpg_PXcm/s320/smeeps+2.jpg" width="279" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: left;">Or you can just put it straight on the cracker and chocolate without roasting it. You can even experiment with the type of chocolate you use (Nutella would be a yummy and quick fix for last-minute treats) and the color of Peeps that you use (pink and blue are particularly pretty).</span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I am thinking of having a little contest. All you have to do to enter is write me a comment on this post with an image of your finished Smeep creation, and the winner will be randomly drawn to win a box of Peeps and a box of Creme eggs! Remember that this contest can only be held if I have more than 5 contestants, so comment now to win the perfect supplies for making Smeeps or just sneaking some refined sugar into your diet ;)...</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Happy Smeeping!</div>

<span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;">Today is both a good and a bad day. Good because I was on Pinterest all morning, and bad because March Break is OVER... :'(</span><br />
<span style="color: #e06666;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #e06666;">But anyhow, let's go back to the good part. I found a super cool tutorial while browsing Pinterest that I am desperate to try, but my bob haircut is a tad too short for it. I hope you guys like it, though!</span><br />

<span style="color: #e06666;">How awesome is that?! If only my hair could grow a little faster, then I could do this for one of my friend's upcoming b-day party. *sigh* Oh well.</span></div>
